Hands over the collector

We're delighted to announce the world premiere of a Blu-Ray from our 2022 4K restoration of Francesco Rosi's film Hands over the City (1963) (Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival)! This limited edition has been passionately crafted by Rimini Editions. If you're not familiar with this publisher, you'll get a very good idea of what they're up to by looking at the magnificent box set they released for L'Homme Tranquille. For Hands over the City, the box set will include a Blu-Ray, two DVDs and a 100-page book. The latter will include a fine, lengthy text by film historian Jean A. Gili, as well as a contribution by Hacene Belmessous, of the magazine Gibraltar, and a reprint of a text we wrote when the film was re-released last November. All this will be accompanied by magnificent photographs, many of them previously unpublished. Numerous bonuses will also be available. These include, first and foremost, a fascinating interview with Michel Ciment (author of the 1976 Dossier Rosi and a close friend of the director's), providing an opportunity to appreciate his fine reflections in what is one of his very last interviews. You'll also discover the film through a conversation between Paolo Palma (lecturer in Film Studies) and Frédéric Mercier (critic for Positif magazine).

The box set comes out on February 07, but you can already pre-order it, for example on the Metaluna website: https://metalunastore.fr/products/main-basse-sur-la-ville or on ESC Distribution website : https://www.esc-distribution.com/drame-et-emotions/9187-main-basse-sur-la-ville-mediabook-2-dvd-1-bd-edition-limitee-3760233157250.html#list-bonus.
